Carlos Baleba trolls Chelsea with ‘greedy’ Brighton message
Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba has sent a message on social media to fans after a big win over Chelsea.
The Cameroonian midfielder played 84 minutes and categorically won the midfield battle against the Blues’ Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, in an assured display.
The 3-0 win on Valentine’s day marked the second win in the span of seven days for the Seagulls against Chelsea, after knocking them out of the FA Cup.
Kaoru Mitoma opened the scoring in the 27th minute with a fabulous touch and finish, with Bart Verbruggen registering the assist for his side.
Chelsea thought they had an equaliser through Fernandez just 10 minutes later, but referee Chris Kavanaugh ruled out the goal for a shove by the Argentinean on Joel Veltman.
Yankuba Minteh would then open his account on the night, scoring in the 38th minute after jinxing past Marc Cucurella to double the Seagull’s lead.
Minteh was on hand for his second of the night, once again leaving Cucurella in a bind, as the Gambian winger scored the match-winner in the 63rd minute.
Chelsea fans were furious at Enzo Maresca after the game, calling for the Argentinean manager to be sacked.
Carlos Baleba tells a ‘short story’ on his social media
Following the match, the Cameroon international posted a series of photos on his Instagram, captioned: “A short story. Not 1 but 2 wins in a week, how greedy. Allez Brighton!”

The match was a memorable one, as Tariq Lamptey played his 100th Premier League match against Chelsea, the Ghanaian made the move from Stamford Bridge to the Amex Stadium in 2020, and posted a message on his social media after the game.
Brighton have moved up to eighth in the table following the win, and will still be hoping to qualify for Europe this season.
