Carter-Vickers, Nicolas Khun react to Paulo Bernardo amid Celtic exit rumours
Paulo Bernardo’s new social media post caught the attention of his Celtic teammates while away from Glasgow this summer.
The 23-year-old, who is currently away with Portugal Under-21s at Euro 2025, has made quite the impact at Celtic Park during his two spells, notching seven goals and seven assists in 77 appearances.
His appearances are surely attracting interest from elsewhere, but with Brendan Rodgers wishing to be backed in the summer transfer market, the Hoops need to continue building the current squad.
However, multiple players are being linked with an exit over the coming weeks, with Football Insider understanding that Celtic have placed a £20million price tag on Nicolas Khun’s head.
Daizen Maeda‘s future is also uncertain ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, but once the summer is over, Rodgers will be keen for much of the current squad to remain as it is.

Paul Bernardo continues to impress away from Celtic
Taking to Instagram (17 June), Bernardo wrote: “First goal achieved! We move on to the quarters,” receiving a message from Wolves’ Rodrigo Gomes, who said: “Vamos Paulinhoooo”.
Celtic trio Alistair Johnston, Cameron Carter-Vickers, and Nicolas Khun were all joined by Joe Hart in liking the post.
Brendan Rodgers faces difficult summer transfer window at Celtic Park
Football Insider verdict
Carter-Vickers has also been linked with a Celtic exit again this summer, though Mick Brown told Football Insider in March that those in Scotland would require a significant transfer fee to consider any move.
The Hoops could face much harder competition from their Old Firm rivals, Rangers, next season following the takeover of 49ers Enterprises, led by Paraag Marathe and Andrew Cavenagh.
Ally McCoist had suggested to Football Insider that Rodgers could be tempted by another exit from Celtic Park without a proper battle for the Scottish Premiership title.

The squad’s biggest target next season, though, will be advancing further in the Champions League after nearly beating Bayern Munich to the round of 16 of the competition last term.
An Alphonso Davies’ last-gasp equaliser crushed the dreams of everyone back in Scotland, but if Rodgers can add reinforcements to his team this summer, there is no reason why they cannot go even further.
Losing the likes of Maeda, Carter-Vickers, and Kuhn would be a tremendous blow, and it would almost certainly raise questions over Rodgers’ future, but that has yet to come to fruition.
