Casemiro told his Man United career is over because he’s ‘too lazy’ – pundit

Casemiro has been told his career at Man United is already over after “lazy” performances amid links to clubs in Saudi Arabian clubs.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Scotland striker Frank McAvennie shared his view that the midfielder has disappointed since arriving at Old Trafford and questioned whether his mentality was right.

Casemiro, 32, joined United for a huge £70million fee in 2022, but after just two seasons and 83 appearances, the club are ready to cut ties.

This comes shortly after Football Insider revealed that Man United expect the Brazilian to sign for a Saudi Arabian club this summer, as they are willing to take an “enormous” loss on his fee.

Casemiro told his time at Man United is over amid Saudi interest

With clubs in Saudi Arabia interested in securing his signature, it now looks inevitable that he will leave as he no longer has a place at United.

McAvennie insisted that the move to centre-back amid Erik ten Hag’s rotation and injury issues did Casemiro no favours, but neither did his work ethic.

His career hasn’t been very good at United, to be honest,” he told Football Insider.

When he came to United, I thought he was one of the top players in the world, in midfield, holding.

But then he got put into centre-back and I’m thinking wow, he can’t even read the game.

This mentality he’s got, jogging about when he’s not got the ball, you just can’t do that and they’ve conceded a lot of goals because of it.

He’s just lazy. Too lazy.

I think he needs to go somewhere. He’s had a wonderful career but unfortunately, he’s not been his best at Man United.”
