Casemiro: Turkish club make move to sign Man United star – journalist

Man United midfielder Casemiro has been linked with a loan move to Turkish giants Galatasaray following his dismal display in the 3-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.

The 32-year-old defensive midfielder has received criticism from fans and pundits alike after losing possession twice, allowing Liverpool forward Luis Diaz to score a brace at Old Trafford.

To rub salt into the wound, he was substituted at half-time for 20-year-old academy product Toby Collyer.

He could now be offered a way out of Manchester and join up with another high-profile loan signing, Victor Osimhen.

According to Futbol Arena journalist Ali Naci Kucuk wrote: “Galatasaray also wants to strengthen its midfield line. Initiatives continue for McKennie, who plays for Juventus.

“Casemiro is among the players contacted for the midfield line. Galatasaray is in talks with Manchester United to loan Casemiro for one year.”

Casemiro joined Man United back in 2022 and has gone on to make 87 appearances for the club, 78 of which were from the first whistle.

The five-time Champions League winner has started all four of his club’s games so far this season but his place is now under threat following the signing of Manuel Ugarte from PSG.

His display against Fulham in Man United’s Premier League opener was arguably one of his best for the club.

With three chances created from defensive midfield and a passing accuracy rate of 81 per cent, he bossed the centre of the park alongside young comrade Kobbie Mainoo.

Casemiro wasn’t called up to the Brazil national team to face Ecuador and Colombia in their World Cup qualifiers so will spend the international break stewing on his mistakes at Carrington.

Man United are set to face newly promoted Southampton at St Mary’s in the early kick-off on September 14th.
