Kieran Maguire blasts Celtic ’embarrassment’ as Uefa sanctions revealed
Celtic will by no means struggle to pay their recent fine from Uefa – but the actions of some of their fans are still cause for “embarrassment”.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after the Hoops were fined £6000 by the governing body.
The club was hit with a £4300 penalty for a pitch invasion and a £1700 fine for setting off fireworks in the recent Europa League clash with Jablonec.

The Hoops were charged under article 16 after a review from the ethics and disciplinary board, as per the Glasgow Times on 24 August.
Fellow Scottish Premiership club St Johnstone were also fined for similar actions during their recent Europa Conference League play-off against LASK.
Maguire explained that Celtic will not be hit hard by the token fine but will rue the PR blow.
“That money will be recycled within the Uefa distribution network,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“It is more an embarrassment for Celtic than anything else. They can certainly afford to bear that particular cost.
“But Uefa will redistribute it, and things like this help to make up the shortfall from the loss of broadcast rebates from a couple of seasons ago.“

Celtic progressed through the tie with Czech outfit Jablonec with a 7-2 aggregate victory.
They also squeezed past AZ Alkmaar in the following tie to secure qualification for the Europa League group stages.
