Celtic and Leeds men react to ‘massive’ update from Crystal Palace ace Daichi Kamada

Daizen Maeda and Ao Tanaka have reacted to a message from Crystal Palace star Daichi Kamada after a huge achievement.

Following his summer move from Lazio, Kamada was expected to neatly slot-in to Oliver Glasner’s midfield, alongside Tottenham target Adam Wharton.

However, Kamada has registered more red cards than goals or assists for his team, and has failed to impress during his time in London.

But that has not stopped the 28-year-old from starring for his national side as Japan, as the former Eintracht Frankfurt man got on the scoresheet against Bahrain.

Japan become first non-host to qualify for 2026 World Cup

Japan’s 2-0 win against Bahrain, in which Kamada and one-time Liverpool target Takefusa Kubo scored, guaranteed the Asian country’s place at the 2026 World Cup.

The timing of their win sees them become the first non-host nation to do so, joining the USA, Mexico and Canada as confirmed participants.

Following the win, Kamada posted a series of photos on his Instagram, celebrating the moment, captioned: “We qualified, thanks for all your massive support”.

The post was then liked by international teammates, Daizen Maeda and Ao Tanaka, who were both in the squad for the historic win.

Crystal Palace must make Daichi Kamada decision ahead of busy summer window

Football Insider Verdict

This summer is going to be a crucial one for both Kamada, and Crystal Palace.

Football Insider have been able to reveal Tim Steidten is in pole position to take over as sporting director, following the departure of Dougie Freedman.

With Marc Guehi set to leave, and rumours surrounding the future’s of players like Wharton, and Jean-Philippe Mateta, the German will have a major task ahead of him, should he be appointed.

With an overhaul necessary, and Palace looking likely to lose some star players, concern will set in, as the Eagles flirted with the relegation zone for a prolonged period of time this season.

However, Kamada may now have an opportunity to turn around his ailing career at Selhurst Park, and prove that his talents are translatable to the Premier League.

The potential exit of Wharton opens up a spot for a box-to-box midfielder with an eye for a killer pass, and those are the Japanese international’s best skills, he just needs to step-up and prove it.
