Celtic are in trouble now after triple injury blow – pundit
Celtic have suffered a big blow to their playing squad after numerous injuries.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Rangers defender Alan Hutton insisted the Hoops have options to fill in for the injured squad members.
Alistair Johnston, Mikey Johnston and new signing Marco Tilio are all expected to miss the start of the 2023-24 league campaign after picking up injuries during the summer break.
Star centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers is also recovering from surgery and is in a race against time to be fit for the opener against Ross County next month.
Second choice right-back Anthony Ralston filled in for Johnston towards the back end of last season and may have to do so once again.
When asked how big a blow it is losing three players before the start of the season, Hutton told Football Insider: “There is no question that it is a blow, especially for Tilio when he is a new signing, to come in and pick up an injury right away.

“I thought Johnston really hit the ground running last season, looks an exceptional player and you want these guys to come in in pre-season and get an understanding with each other.
“There is no doubt it is a blow but these things happen and it is about how you deal with it. There will be somebody else waiting in the wings to show Brendan Rodgers that they are capable of playing regular football.“
In other news, Celtic make move to sign 26-yr-old with same agent as Kieran Tierney.
