Celtic 21-yr-old deserves long-awaited start v Dundee, Rodgers may well have other ideas
There was some thought among Celtic fans that Hoops attacker Patrick Roberts would make his long-awaited first start for the Hoops since December against Ross County on Saturday, but it didn’t happen as he was kept on the bench.
He did get a second-half cameo but Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers decided to with the struggling Scott Sinclair in his starting line-up instead, in an attempt to boost the 29-year-old’s confidence.
This was slightly disappointing to Hoops fans, who were eager to see the 21-year-old Englishman start a match for the first time in five months.
It wouldn’t be that much of a shock if they were to be disappointed again when they see the starting line-up that will face Dundee on Wednesday.
Whilst it can be said that Roberts deserves a start and a chance to show what he is all about, the Hoops boss may well decide to keep his faith in Sinclair.

Sinclair seems to have confidence issues at the moment, and he might not deal well with losing his place in the first-team after only one game.
Roberts may well have to be satisfied with another cameo on the bench, and he’ll be hoping that he does enough to impress the Hoops manager that he starts against Hamilton on Sunday.
