Fringe players axed in Rodgers 4-4-2: Celtic best possible XI v Anderlecht
Celtic face Anderlecht in their last Champions League group stage game, knowing that if they avoid a four goal defeat in Glasgow they will clinch a place in the Europa League.
Brendan Rodgers’ side cruised to a 3-0 victory in Belgium in September thanks to goals from Leigh Griffiths and Moussa Dembele, which shows that the Hoops do seem have the measure of their opponents.
The Celts could book their place in the last 32 of the Europa League in style – if they adopt an all out attack approach. They are at home and are expected to win, so why not put on a performance that the fans will remember for years?
The Hoops defeated Motherwell 5-1 at the weekend, but a host of changes must be made to that team if Rodgers wants to field his best possible line-up – as well as a formation change to 4-4-2.
The best defender at Parkhead Jozo Simumovic must replace the inexperienced Kristoffer Ajer.

Despite a great performance against the Fir Park side, fringe player Johnny Hayes will have to be axed and have his place in the side taken by James Forrest, who is perhaps the best player in Scotland at the moment.
Tom Rogic, a fine player but not suited to the 4-4-2 should be replaced by Scottish international Leigh Griffiths.
Odsonne Edoaurd, another fringe player, has huge potential but at the moment he is no Moussa Dembele and should also be axed by Rodgers.
Rodgers isn’t the type of manager who likes his team to sit back, so the Bhoys should be on the front foot from the first whistle.
