Celtic board hailed as source reveals how much Palace will really pay for Edouard -pundit
Kevin Campbell insists Celtic have done well to receive a decent fee for Odsonne Edouard.
The former Arsenal hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted to an update from a club source.
A Celtic source told Football Insider on 1 September that the club will receive an initial £15million for Edouard rising to £20million with add-ons.
The 23-year-old striker signed for Crystal Palace on deadline day, ending months of speculation on his future at Parkhead.
The Hoops secured the signing of VVV Venlo forward Georgios Giakoumakis on deadline day ahead of Edouard’s arrival.
Kyogo Furuhashi arrived earlier in the summer with his Parkhead career starting with a bang.
Campbell insists Celtic pulled off good business by getting such a substantial fee for a player who is out of contract next year.
“It’s a good sale,” Campbell told Football Insider assistant editor Dylan Childs.
“It’s brought in some much-needed funds as well. For a player who only had 12 months on his contract, it’s a win for everybody.
“It suits the player to go and challenge at Palace and it suits Celtic to bring in players and top-up the bank.
“He had done his time at Celtic, he needed a fresh challenge.”

Edouard’s contract at Celtic was due to expire next summer and he was linked with several moves during the summer.
The striker scored 86 goals in 179 games at the Parkhead club after joining in 2017.
