Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher had some interesting things to say about his former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers.
The former Anfield centre-back, as quoted in the Daily Record, claimed that the current Celtic senior man is ‘the best British manager’ working in football.
This is high praise indeed, and if more people in England feel the same way that Carragher does then it would seem likely that clubs in the Premier League could well see Rodgers as a managerial target in the summer.
Would Chelsea be interested in Rodgers? Perhaps not, as they are probably looking for a boss with more managerial triumphs in Europe, but you have got to believe that the likes of West Ham, if David Moyes leaves, or Watford, with their ever changing managerial vacancies would be interested.
The good news for Celtic fans though is that Rodgers doesn’t seem in any hurry to depart from Glasgow.
He wants to achieve more in Europe, where the Hoops have struggled in recent years, However, if Rodgers isn’t given enough money in the summer to bring players in, then perhaps the Northern Irishman may consider moving to a new club in the summer of 2019.
There will always be speculation surrounding Rodgers, and Carragher’s comments will only add to that.
