Celtic board tipped offer Ange Postecoglou new ‘long-term deal’ after contract reveal – pundit
Alan Hutton has suggested Celtic could look to tie Ange Postecoglou down to a “long-term” contract before the end of the season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Scotland defender insisted the Hoops would want the 56-year-old to remain in charge for “the foreseeable future”.
As confirmed by Celtic back in June 2021, Postecoglou signed a 12-month rolling contract to become the Bhoys’ manager.

Speaking about his future earlier this month (1 March), as quoted by the Daily Record, the Australian boss revealed he has “never worried” about his contract situation during his career.
However, he admitted he is “loving every minute” of the Hoops job and that hopes to be at Parkhead for “a long time”.
With the Australian boss having recently clocked up 50 games in charge of the Bhoys, Hutton suggested the club may look at handing him new and improved terms.
Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “50 games? That has gone quick. I think it is there for all to see how well he has done.
“Taking over the club in a transition period, Rangers have just won the league very comfortably. It was always going to be difficult. For me, he has turned it around very quickly.
“He’s got his own philosophies, his own style of play, he doesn’t veer off it. You know exactly what you’re going to get. He has been unbelievable in the transfer market with the players that he has brought in.
“Everything he has done, he has done to a high standard. It wouldn’t surprise me if they wanted to tie him down to a long-term deal.

“Most of the time nowadays it is this kind of rolling contract thing that managers are on. They’ll want him to stay for the foreseeable future.
“He has started a project and it has really taken off. The progression is there for everybody to see. He has done a great job.”
