Celtic can ‘wrest’ title from Rangers after ‘great’ update on fifth January signing – Campbell
Kevin Campbell has heaped praise on the Celtic board for significantly backing Ange Postecoglou in the transfer market.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker said the Hoops can โwrestleโ the title back off Rangers with a successful window.
Celtic have already completed the signings of Japanese trio of Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda and Yosuke Ideguchi, as well as Irish youngster Johnny Kenny.
According to the Daily Record (8 January), talks are progressing well over a permanent deal for Tottenham defender Cameron Carter-Vickers.
Carter-Vickers has impressed since moving to Parkhead on a season-long loan deal in the summer.
When asked by Football Insiderโs Dylan Childs for his assessment of the update, Campbell said: โItโs great to see the board backing Postecoglou.
โIโm sure the board were slightly cautious at the beginning. I think they would have been wanting to see how it would go with Postecoglou before spending a lot of money on new players.

โThey have seen a big improvement already though. They have also seen Postecoglou make some amazing signings like [Kyogo] Furuhashi and [Filipe] Jota.
โNow is the time to back him. There is an opportunity to wrestle the title back this season. They have already won a trophy this season. If they get January right they have a chance of winning the title. Now is the time to back the manager in the transfer market.โ
