Celtic confirmed line-up v Hearts: 20-year-old misses out in only change

By Danny Wright

Celtic have made one change for their Scottish Premiership clash at Hearts.

Moussa Dembele is not in the matchday squad as he is still struggling with an injury, and is replaced in the starting line-up by Patrick Roberts in the only change from the side that beat Dundee on March 19.

It means Celtic will be playing without a recognised out-and-out striker, with Leigh Griffiths also missing out with an injury.

The team news was announced on Celtic’s official Twitter page.

The Bhoys can secure the league title with a victory at Tynecastle.

They could have won it on Friday if Aberdeen lost to Dundee, but the second-placed side forced Celtic to do it themselves as they secured a staggering 7-0 win.

It will be the sixth time in a row that Celtic have won the Scottish Premiership and Rodgers’ first league title in his managerial career.

Three points over Hearts would open up an unassailable 25 point lead over the Dons, who have kept the Hoops pressing for several weeks thanks to their good form.

Celtic are still unbeaten in domestic competition in Rodgers’ debut campaign and sealing the league title would be the second part of their treble quest completed.

Rangers lie in wait in the Scottish Cup semi-final after they already beat their Old Firm rivals in the League Cup earlier this season.

In other Celtic news, Charlie Nicholas has said that Rodgers should be a leading contender for this Premier League job.
