Celtic could accept Hyeon-gyu Oh offer after source’s reveal – pundit
Celtic will be happy to let Hyeon-gyu Oh leave the club if they can seal a summer move for cup hero Adam Idah.
That is the view of former Rangers and Scotland defender Alan Hutton, who was speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Hoops’ striking options.
Oh, 23, started the 2023-24 campaign as Celtic’s second-choice striker but was phased out of Brendan Rodgers’ side after Idah arrived on loan from Norwich in January.
Football Insider revealed earlier this month (14 June) that Celtic have received “positive signs” in their pursuit of the Republic of Ireland international, who scored the winner in the Scottish Cup final against Rangers in May.
Sources say Idah is “very keen” to make a permanent move to Scotland.
Idah signing could force Oh out at Celtic, says Hutton
The forward notched nine goals and two assists in 19 games, while Oh has managed 12 strikes in 47 games for the Hoops since joining in January 2023.
Hutton told Football Insider: “I think Oh’s future will depend on what happens with Idah.
“I wouldn’t say they are like-for-like, but they offer that similar presence up front.
“Celtic need something different from Kyogo.
“If Idah does come in, then it will mean you can allow Oh to leave.

“If that doesn’t happen, then they’d have to replace him if they do let him go anyway – and at that point, you’re down to your second or third target.
“It’ll depend on the squad and the transfer plans in place at Celtic.”
