Celtic could face late twist in talks to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers after £10m update – pundit
Alan Hutton has suggested Celtic could face a late twist in talks to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers permanently from Tottenham.
The former Scotland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted Spurs’ demands, as well as possible interest from other Premier League sides, could throw a spanner in the works.
American news outlet SBI Soccer (23 April) claim Celtic are in advanced talks to sign the 24-year-old after his successful loan spell.

The Lilywhites reportedly value Carter-Vickers at £6million and are seeking a deal rising to a potential £10million.
The report also claims Wolves, Leicester City and Watford have all shown interest in the centre-back.
As such, Hutton suggested Celtic may find it “difficult” to get a deal over the line.
Asked if Carter-Vickers’ permanent signing would be a coup for Celtic, Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Yeah, I think so.
“I watched him at the start of the season and he wasn’t exactly ripping up trees. I don’t think that was his fault, I think it was due to a lack of game time at the start of the season.
“He’s come up here and really shown his worth. He’s a man-mountain, very difficult to get past but also good on the ball.
“I think this is a more difficult one, especially when you consider the value it could. We could be talking be £7-10million here. Can Celtic afford to pay that?
“If the bigger teams in the Premier League are swooping, it’s going to be very difficult to hang on to him. Fair play to him. He’s come up here, he’s worked hard, and he’s made it happen for himself.”

Carter-Vickers has played 41 times for Celtic across all competitions.
In stark contrast, he has just five appearances under his belt for Spurs.
