Celtic could terminate Brendan Rodgers’ contract amid ‘huge’ update
Celtic have endured a frustrating start to the season so far amid a backdrop of discontent and fan protests against the board and their decisions.
Brendan Rodgers’ side lost 3-1 to Hearts on 26 October, meaning they are now eight points behind the league leaders after just nine games played.
The Hoops have now won just two of their last seven games across all competitions, leading to increased frustration from the fans who are demanding more of their team.
Celtic fans have begun to turn on Rodgers alongside their protests against the running of the club, with many believing the boss’ time is coming to an end.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 10 October that Rodgers could quit Celtic with his contract set to expire at the end of the current season.

Celtic could sack Brendan Rodgers after behind the scenes clash
Football Insider revealed on 13 September that Celtic and Rodgers have failed to progress in contract negotiations, with a growing possibility he will leave at the end of the year.
However, as a result of recent results and performances as well as continued clashes with the board of directors, Rodgers could be relieved of his duties before that time.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the boss could be forced out of Parkhead if results continue in their recent vein.
“Nothing would surprise me at Celtic at the moment,” he told Football Insider.
“Everything going on at Rangers has taken the focus off of them a bit, but it’s been a really poor season both on and off the pitch so far and the fans aren’t impressed.
“Their results haven’t been good enough, it’s as simple as that, and after losing to Hearts at the weekend they’re beginning to fall behind in the title race.
“In any circumstances, if you’re the Celtic manager and you’re not winning the league, there’s going to be a lot of pressure on you to turn things around from the fans and the board.
“So for Rodgers, I have no doubt they’re having a look at him and hoping he can turn things around.
“If he can’t, then they might be left with a huge decision to make about his future.

“Another thing that isn’t helping his cause is the clashes with the board, he’s demanding certain things which they haven’t delivered, so there’s a disconnect there.
“He may well be using that as a reason, pointing to the results and saying this is happening because he hasn’t been giving what he’s asking for.
“So it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he was let go, even before the end of his contract, because there have been several disagreements and the results haven’t been good enough.”
Football Insider revealed on 5 September that Rodgers could opt to walk away from Celtic at the end of the season, but he may not be given that long.
Celtic eye Ange Postecoglou as surprise Rodgers replacement
Ongoing protests against the Celtic board have created turbulence behind the scenes, while frustrations over their transfer policy have left the manager frustrated.
However, with the likelihood of his exit growing, whether that is through his own decision at the end of his contract or the club’s call, plans are being put in place.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 21 October that Ange Postecoglou is a candidate to replace Rodgers should he and Celtic part ways.

Postecoglou was sacked by Nottingham Forest on 18 October following a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea, having taken charge of just five Premier League games.
However, Postecoglou enjoyed two very successful years in charge of Celtic before leaving in the summer of 2023 to join Tottenham, and remains very highly-rated at Parkhead.
