Three Celtic players have been named in the SPFL Betfred Cup team of the tournament.
Craig Gordon, Kieran Tierney and James Forrest are the players selected, and they each played a vital role as Celtic won the tournament for the 17th time.
Celtic retained the trophy with a 2-0 victory over Motherwell on Sunday, as Brendan Rodgers made it four trophies out of four since taking over at Celtic Park.
Celtic’s performances in the tournament have been rewarded with three places in the team of the tournament, which was selected by journalist Craig Fowler.
Craig Gordon made a key save in Sunday’s final, saving Louis Moult’s point-blank header just before Scott Sinclair won Celtic the penalty that clinched the game.
Kieran Tierney played up to his usual high standard in the tournament, not only scoring a wonder goal against Kilmarnock in an earlier round but also captaining the side on the occasion.
James Forrest opened the scoring against Motherwell and was deservedly named man of the match. The game was the third Betfred Cup Final he has scored in, and Celtic have won all three of those games.
Celtic return to action tomorrow night as they take on Motherwell for the second time this week in a league match at Fir Park, the teams then play each other again at Celtic Park on Saturday.
