
Celtic defy expectations as documents reveal £46m payout
Celtic have generated £46million in commercial revenue over 2023 which has exceeded projected figures by a large margin, Football Insider can reveal.
As per the Uefa Club Finance and Investment Landscape report, Celtic have experienced a growth of £8.5million in their commercial income compared to 2022.
The majority of the Hoops’ commercial revenue stems from their kit manufacturer deal with Adidas and their front-of-shirt sponsorship deal with Dafabet.
The Scottish giants currently rank 20th in European football for commercial income which is the highest in Scotland and the sixth highest in the UK – Chelsea are expected to push them down the list when they publish their full accounts.
Celtic bank £46m income to rank among Europe’s best
The commercial revenue recorded by Celtic has exceeded their expected figures and puts them on a competitive financial level with clubs such as Napoli, Inter Milan and Ajax.
According to Uefa, Celtic were expected to rank 33rd in world football for commercial revenue once all 700+ registered clubs provide their full financial data.
Celtic’s 2022-23 accounts showed the club generated a total revenue of £119million with a profit of £40million.

While the finances of the club are healthy, the board at Parkhead have been criticised by fans for not investing more of the club’s cash into the playing squad.
As revealed by Football Insider, Celtic fans lashed out at chairman Peter Lawwell and called him a “blatant liar” following his comments on the lack of transfer activity.
