‘Celtic dressing room upset’ after shattering Postecoglou news – pundit
Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic exit has “upset the dressing room”.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Tottenham and Rangers defender Alan Hutton has praised the way Postecoglou handled the weeks leading up to his exit.
On Tuesday (6 June), the Hoops confirmed that the Australian has left the club to take over at Spurs after two years in charge of the Glasgow giants.
The news comes just days after Postecoglou guided the Hoops to an eighth consecutive domestic treble with a 3-1 win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Cup final.
Speaking in the lead up to the game, the 57-year-old refused to comment on the rumours linking him to the vacant manager’s job in London and wanted his players to be focused on the cup final at hand.
When asked if Postecoglou handled the situation in the right way, Hutton told Football Insider: “I think if that comes out a week before you never know what could have happened,
“It upsets the dressing room, people start thinking about their futures – that manager is leaving, should I leave? He offered me a new contract, I might not sign it now. So it does put doubts in your mind as a player.

“I think it was perfect how he played it. He is the manager of the football club, you brush it to one side and concentrate on finishing this season strongly and then I will speak about it.
“It obviously does not happen overnight, you do not just finish one game and then the next day you are away to Tottenham but he played it really well keeping it hushed until after the cup final.“
