Celtic player ratings v Dundee: 27-year-old is invisible, attacker lives up to billing

By James Black

Celtic booked their place in the Scottish League Cup semi-final with a comprehensive 4-0 win over Dundee at Dens Park on Wednesday night with James Forrest proving the star man yet again.

The Hoops were 2-0 up at half-time through Scott Sinclair’s penalty and a Forrest strike before two late goals from Callum McGregor and the Forrest added some gloss to the result.

Brendan Rodgers’ side are now an incredible 56 games without defeat in domestic competition as they look to win back-to-back trebles for the first time.

The Parkhead side travel to Ibrox on Saturday to face Rangers in the first Old Firm game of the season and will be delighted with their preparation for it.

It was a ridiculously quiet night for Celtic’s defence as they were barely tested after the opening exchanges as the Hoops’ attack fired them through to the last four of the cup.
