Celtic Exclusive: Brendan Rodgers ‘tempted’ by Premier League offer – Sources
Brendan Rodgers could quit Celtic if he was offered another Premier League job, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking to the new edition of Football Insider’s Insider Track Podcast, transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the 51-year-old would be “tempted” by a move back to England should the opportunity arise.
Rodgers ended his first spell with the Hoops in February 2019 when he was offered the job at then-Premier League side Leicester City.
After just over four years with the Foxes, he left the club by mutual consent in April 2023 amid a relegation battle and returned to Celtic last June as Ange Postecoglou’s replacement.
Upon his return to Parkhead, Rodgers claimed that he would see out his three-year deal after admitting he’d hurt the fanbase by quitting mid-season.
Could Brendan Rodgers make a shock Premier League return?
His first season back at the helm has been mixed and not helped by the resurgence of arch-rivals Rangers, who have closed the gap on them at the top of the table since Philippe Clement arrived at Ibrox in October.
Significant league defeats to Hearts and Kilmarnock were widely bashed by the Celtic fanbase, while their dismal Champions League campaign and second-round elimination from the Scottish League Cup were also criticised.

Celtic remain top of the league, but Rangers’ 3-1 win against Ross County on Wednesday (14 February) saw them go level on points and goal difference.
The Hoops are next in action against Kilmarnock on Saturday afternoon (17 February).
