Brendan Rodgers is expected to make five changes to the Celtic side which defeated Patrick Thistle 1-0 when they take on Hamilton in Saturday’s Scottish Premiership clash.

Erik Sviatchenko, Emilio Izaguirre, Stuart Armstrong, Leigh Griffiths and Gary Mackay-Steven are expected to replace Mikael Lustig, Calvin Miller, Moussa Dembele, Liam Henderson and Patrick Roberts as Rodgers looks to rotate his squad during a busy Christmas period.

Callum McGregor and Scott Sinclair should retain their places in attack but key forward Dembele has failed to score in his last eight league gamesĀ and could make way for Griffiths up front.

Miller was handed an opportunity against Patrick Thistle but Emilio Izaguirre is likely to return to his position at left-back, while Cristian Gamboa could retain his place on the opposite flank after impressing in the recent 1-0 victory.

Sviatchenko is expected to return to the starting XI and could pair with Jozo Simunovic, who has been his regular centre-back partner this season.

Skipper Scott Brown should retain his position in the centre of midfield but Liam Henderson is expected to make way for regular first teamer Stuart Armstrong, after he was rested last week.

James Forrest is still absent through injury so Mackay-Steven could be handed just his fifth appearance of the season after he was left on the sidelines for the clash against Patrick Thistle.

Craig Gordon should start in goal.

In other Celtic news, Jim Duffy identifies this Rangers trio as a threat for the Hoops.
