Teenager starts as injury crisis plagues squad: Celtic expected XI v Brechin

Celtic return to action after their winter break in the middle of an injury crisis when they face Brechin City in the Scottish Cup at Parkhead on Saturday.
Perhaps normally playing the team bottom of the Championship at home in the Scottish Cup would give Brendan Rodgers the chance to bed in some fringe players, but that doesn’t seem likely to be the case here.
With regards to the team selection, there will be one forced change from the side which drew 0-0 with Rangers in December, with Stuart Armstrong out with a hernia problem. Olivier Ntcham should replace him.
The likes of Leigh Griffiths and new signing Marvin Compper would have been expected to play, but both are victims of the injury problems currently sweeping thorough Celtic Park.
