Celtic expected 4-2-3-1 v Partick: 27-year-old axed in three changes from Sunday humiliation
Brendan Rodgers made three changes for the game against Partick Thistle on Wednesday night in reaction to the humiliating 4-0 defeat at Hearts on Sunday afternoon.
The game is a must win for the league leaders, as the gap to second placed Hearts is down to two points, but the Hoops can increase the lead to five with a win against Thistle.
Dedryck Boyata, Jozo Simunovic and Leigh Griffiths are expected to be axed for their abysmal performances at the weekend with Kristoffer Ajer, Nir Bitton and Moussa Dembele coming into the starting line-up to replace them.
The Hoops boss will want his players to prove a point, that the result at Tynecastle was a blip, and that the players who went so many games undefeated still have what it takes, which is why there will be only three changes to the side.
Craig Gordon is likely to keep his place in goal behind Bitton and Ajer.
Mikael Lustig and Kieran Tierney could keep their spots at left-back and right-back for the clash against the Jags.
Scott Brown, Olivier Ntcham and Callum McGregor are expected to remain unchanged in the midfield three while James Forrest and Scott Sinclair are also likely to keep hold of their spots on either wing.
After firing a blank against Hearts, 27-year-old Griffiths is expected to be axed in place of Moussa Dembele.
This team should be more than capable of defeating bottom of the table Partick Thistle and putting the Hoops back on winning ways ahead of the top of the table clash against Aberdeen on Saturday.
