Celtic expert slams ’embarrassing’ SFA amid ‘bias’ claim – ‘I can’t believe that’

Frank McAvennie has claimed there is a “bias” against Celtic within the Scottish Football Association.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker said that the scheduling of the post-split fixtures is “embarrassing”.

The Celts can clinch the Scottish Premiership title with their next league win but if they want to do so at Parkhead, they will have to wait until the 20 May.

As confirmed by the SFA (25 April), Ange Postecoglou’s side travel to Tynecastle to face Hearts in their first post-split fixture (7 May), before making the trip to Ibrox the following weekend.

According to footballscotland (26 April), the Hoops are set to receive just over 1200 tickets for travelling supporters on a day they could be crowned league champions for the second time under Postecoglou.

McAvennie is disappointed for Celtic and the fans.

Give them a game at home and let them win the league in front of their own fans, it is absolutely embarrassing,” he told Football Insider.

Once again the SFA show that there is a bias.

I can’t believe that after all these years people expect it to be different. Of the top two teams Celtic are the ones playing away from home, it really is embarrassing.

If the Hoops manage a victory over Hearts on Sunday (7 May), they will edge even closer to a record-breaking eighth domestic treble.

Celtic

The Celts booked their place in the Scottish Cup final on Sunday (30 April) with a 1-0 win over Rangers.

They will face Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Hampden on the 3 June.
