Celtic expert slams Todd Cantwell after Twitter row – ‘he won’t win this one’
Rangers midfielder Todd Cantwell “picked the wrong” Celtic legend to mess with.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Hoops striker Frank McAvennie insisted Chris Sutton is “too experience” to let anything “rattle him”.
Gers midfielder Cantwell sparked an argument with Sutton on Twitter after slating the former Hoops striker’s punditry skills.
Sutton retaliated and slammed the former Norwich star’s trophy record since he joined the Ibrox club in January.
The Gers finished the 2022-23 season trophyless and with just one Old Firm victory after their Glasgow rivals had already wrapped up the league title.
Celtic then went on to complete the domestic treble for the eighth time in the club’s history.
McAvennie insisted Cantwell chose the wrong person to mess with.
“I think he is a flogging a dead horse I do not think he is going to win this one,” he told Football Insider.
“It is all good banter but even the Rangers supporters have said he is picking on the wrong one. You can’t argue with Chris, he has won medals, won the league, won loads at Celtic and Cantwell has won nothing.

“It is funny to watch and I think it has just maybe spiralled a wee bit out of control. Cantwell will learn from that but I think it is just good banter, nobody has stepped over the mark yet.
“But I think Cantwell picked the wrong one, Sutton is way too experienced to let anything rattle him.”
