Celtic eye Euro pocket rocket to replace Roberts, £1.5m will seal deal - report

Brendan Rodgers is weighing up a £1.5million move for Red Star Belgrade winger Srdjan Plavsic to boost Celtic’s Champions League campaign, according to a report.
The Daily Mail claims Celtic are eyeing the 5ft 5in attacker, who is known for his explosive pace out wide, while Bursaspor are also said to be interested in making a move for the 21-year-old.
Nicknamed the ‘Atomic Ant’ because of his petite stature, Plevsic has been identified as the man to replace Manchester City loanee Patrick Roberts who is expected to rejoin his parent club.
It is believed that Rodgers wants to bolster his side in central defence, central midfield and on the flanks ahead of their Champions League qualifiers.
Belgrade’s number 17 has been in sublime form this season, inspiring his side in the final third to the top of Serbia’s top flight.

Scoring eight goals in all competitions during his 33 outings, the playmaker has also added five assists for his side despite his tender age.
However, the two-time Serbia international only has a year left on his contract with the Serbian giants and that could see Celtic complete a summer swoop for the winger.
Football Insider verdict:
Rodgers desperately needs to improve his side if they are to firstly reach the Champions League group stages, and then go one better than this season and reach the knockout stages. With plenty of potential and promise, Plavsic could prove to be a top signing with youth on his side. However, former Liverpool boss Rodgers must try to bring Roberts in on another loan or a permanent basis before trying to sign any other wingers in the summer transfer window, as the England youth international continues to show his worth in Scotland’s top flight.
In other Celtic transfer news, Rodgers is eyeing a £500,000 loan move for this 20-year-old assist machine.
