'Mince', 'Behave', 'Shocking' - Celtic fans mock report stating Rangers flyer is PL bound
Rangers right-back James Tavernier is reportedly wanted by a number of Premier League clubs, but fans of rivals Celtic cannot believe that the 27-year-old could be on the wish-list of the English top-flight teams.
The former Wigan defender’s display against the Hoops at Celtic Park on Sunday didn’t go to plan for the Gers player, who struggled to contain a free-flowing Celtic left-flank, and was exposed and outwitted on a number of occasions.
He wasn’t the only player to fall apart though, as Graeme Murty’s side had an all-round mare.
A brace from Odsonne Edouard, and efforts from James Forrest, Tom Rogic, and Callum McGregor left the Light Blues red-faced on a disastrous away day against their fierce Glasgow city rivals.
After hearing that Tavernier has reportedly, via the Scottish Sun, attracted the interest of Everton, Burnley, and Swansea, Hoops fans have been laughing off the speculation and queried how the right-back would fare in a much tougher league.
The full-back has actually been one of the Light Blues most consistent performers of the season and as such was only rewarded with a new deal at Ibrox in February.
