Celtic fans cut into star who is ‘stealing a wage’ in win vs Livingston: ‘The biggest liability I’ve ever seen’
Celtic survived a huge scare as they beat Livingston 4-2 on Saturday afternoon.
The Parkhead outfit closed the gap at the top of the Premiership to just three points, but they had to come from behind twice in the opening 10 minutes in response to two goals from Cristian Montano.
Celtic eventually took control of the game, as a brace from Benjamin Nygren added to goals from Hyun-Jung Yang and a penalty from Arne Engels to cap off the scoring.
Wilfried Nancy will have breathed a huge sigh of relief as his team pushed their way past the division’s bottom club, but the chaos of the opening 10 minutes still hasn’t been lost on the fans.

Celtic fans rage at Anthony Ralston for his display
Chris Sutton fumed at Anthony Ralston for his involvement in Livingston’s opening goal in the second minute, and he was far from the only one to take his frustration out on the defender.
The 27-year-old has regularly operated on the right side of the back three since Nancy’s arrival, despite the fact that he is more suited to a traditional right-back role.
The defender was exposed on several occasions during Saturday’s victory, and both of the visitors’ goals came down his side of the pitch in the early stages.
Celtic fans took to X during the game to make their feelings known on the performance, and there was plenty of cutting criticism directed towards Ralston.
One supporter branded the Scotland star as “the biggest liability I’ve ever seen,” while another suggested that he and teammate Johnny Kenny are “stealing a wage” with their displays.
There were also fans who questioned how Ralston is even a professional footballer.
- @FlumpsF: “Put Ralston in the bin.”
- @Teresab1977: “Ralston really is diabolical.”
- @__MC7__: “Ralston should never wear a Celtic jersey again.”
Bhoys set for pivotal run after Hearts slip up
Celtic fans were quick to mock Hearts for their defeat to Hibernian in the early kick-off, and the next few games could now be pivotal in deciding where the title goes at the end of the season.
The Bhoys face a difficult trip to third-placed Motherwell in their next outing, before a truly seismic Old Firm clash at Parkhead on 3 January.
Claim three points in each of those games, and Nancy’s men may even find themselves top of the league.
The Motherwell clash is Celtic’s game in hand on Hearts, but if they cannot manage favourable results from that pair of assignments, then the reduced gap at the top is likely to quickly become a distant memory.
Nancy now has back-to-back wins to his name in recent weeks, but he will soon learn that pressure is constant in a job of this magnitude.
