'Always look on the bright side' – Celtic fans react as star man picks up injury

By Russell Edge

Celtic fans have been left sweating after star striker Moussa Dembele was forced off through injury in their clash with Rangers in the Scottish cup and took to social media to voice their concerns.

The Hoops striker appeared to damage his hamstring when attempting to keep the ball in after just half an hour at Hampden Park in the semi-final clash, and quickly signalled to the bench that his game was over.

He was replaced by Leigh Griffiths, who proceeded to win a penalty for Brendan Roders’ side after being brought down by Rangers’ James Tavernier, which was slotted home by Scott Sinclair.

This was after Callum McGregor gave Celtic the lead after just 11 minutes to send Celtic on their way to securing their place in the Scottish Cup final.

Celtic will be relieved that they did not need to rely on the 20-year-old striker for their goals in their 2-0 win, but will be worried as to whether the French forward will be seen in the green and white hoops again this season.

Brendan Rodgers’ side are looking to secure a domestic treble, having already lifted the Scottish League Cup and Premier League title, with Dembele’s 32 goals in all competitions playing a major role in all three of their runs.

As a result, fans will be nervous that the injury might keep him out until after the end of the season, and took to social media to voice their worries.
