Celtic fans destroy ‘diabolical’ Brendan Rodgers after ‘shocking’ Rangers loss

Celtic fans have been left raging at Brendan Rodgers following their performance in the SPFL clash v Barry Ferguson’s Rangers at Parkhead.

Rodgers’ side fell to a late 3-2 in the Old Firm derby after first-half goals from Nicolas Raskin and Mohamed Diomane gave the visitors a 2-0 lead at half-time.

The second half saw Celtic pull one back through Daizen Maeda, and Reo Hatate grabbed an equaliser after 74 minutes – but it was Hamza Igamane who won it in the 88th.

Rangers fans returned to the away end for the first time since the 2022/23 season, and their 2,400 away supporters were the ones left celebrating at full time.

Last time to two sides faced, Gers cruised to a 3-0 win at Ibrox, and supporters now believe Rodgers’ tactics and setups have been found out by their rivals.

As a result, some of the home crowd have gone as far as to suggest the manager should be sacked following the game as tempers continue to flare.

Rodgers exit verdict shared as Rangers plot Steven Gerrard swoop

Ferguson, appointed as interim boss until the end of the season, led Rangers to their first league win at Parkhead since Steven Gerrard’s side in 2020.

The ex-Liverpool man has recently been linked with a return to Ibrox to replace Philippe Clement, as Football Insider revealed Gerrard is Rangers’ “dream appointment”.

However, Celtic may also be looking for a new manager in the summer after Ally McCoist told Football Insider that Rodgers could leave Celtic in search of a new challenge.

The former Rangers striker explained that the manager is likely to want to have another crack at the Champions League, but could be tempted to quit for a second time.

Despite the shock home defeat, Celtic remain 12 points clear of Rangers at the top of the SPFL and are cruising towards what should be a comfortable title win.

However, that has not prevented frustrations from building at Parkhead as fans are growing frustrated with recent displays despite the ultimate results.

Taking to social media following the Old Firm defeat, supporters have labelled Rodgers‘ style “negative”, and the manager “shocking” and “diabolical”.
