Celtic fans fear the worst after what ‘brilliant’ transfer target did in the Champions League
Celtic remain on the hunt for signings before the transfer window closes, as they look to get their Scottish Premiership title ambitions back on track.
Martin O’Neill is desperate for new additions at the Hoops before deadline day, with the Old Firm club light on quality in multiple areas.
One of the worst is up front, with Celtic without a reliable goalscorer all season.
Therefore, fans would have been overjoyed to see Kasper Hogh linked to Celtic in the closing days of the window, with the Bodo/Glimt striker having a fantastic campaign to date.
However, many supporters fear that his ever-growing form has put an end to any chances of a winter move after the striker once again found the net in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Celtic fans insist Kasper Hogh won’t come after scoring past Atletico Madrid.
Hogh has quickly become a big name in Europe over the past couple of weeks.
The striker was excellent in the Eliteserien last season, as he netted 17 goals in 28 matches in the Norwegian top-flight.
However, it is in the Champions League where people have really started to take notice.
Last week, he netted twice in a 3-1 win over Man City, with Chris Sutton describing Hogh’s finishing as “brilliant”.
Then, on Wednesday, he scored again, as he ensured Bodo/Glimt reached the Champions League playoffs with a 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid.
This form has brought the striker further reputation, with Celtic fans now certain they won’t bag the player before the end of the winter window.

Not a chance Bodo sell now with them in the play offs
didn’t think there was even a glimmer we were getting kasper hogh from bodo anyway but that result will all but hammer it home for certain.

Yeah Hogh ain’t coming to us, nae chance.

Many also believe that Bodo/Glimt will now demand even more money for a sale, something that Celtic won’t accept.
Kasper Hogh will not be coming to Celtic. He has scored against Man City and Athletico Madrid in consecutive weeks in the Champions League and we won’t pay the money for him.

That’ll be another few million added on for Kasper Hogh after he scored the winning goal against Atletico Madrid to put Bodo/Glimt into the playoffs of the champions league.

@Quinny3001 Hogh just scored to put Bodo into playoffs… we can forget about this signing now!

How good was Hogh vs Atletico Madrid?
According to Fotmob on 28 January, Hogh had a great game against Atletico Madrid.
The striker had three shots, two of which hit the target, created one chance and had an xG of 0.66.
| Kasper Hogh’s stats vs Atletico Madrid | |
| Minutes | 83 |
| Goals | 1 |
| xG | 0.66 |
| Shots | 3 |
| Shots on target | 2 |
| Chances created | 1 |
Therefore, there is no doubt that Hogh has immense quality and would almost certainly be a hit in the Scottish Premiership.
However, it remains to be seen if Celtic are able to prize him away from Norway before the winter window slams shut in the next couple of days.
