Celtic fans fume at ‘disgraceful’ club chiefs as Rangers go level – ‘sack the board’
Celtic fans are worried about losing their grip on the title race as Rangers go level on points after their win against Aberdeen
Celtic fans have hit out at manager Brendan Rodgers and the board of directors after Rangers went level on points following their victory over Aberdeen on Tuesday (6 February).
Only goal difference separates the Old Firm rivals after Rabbi Matondo and Todd Cantwell bagged at Ibrox to secure a 2-1 victory and ruin Dons boss Neil Warnock’s return to management.
The Hoops dropped points in their last game against Aberdeen which handed Rangers the chance to spark an intense title race.
Pressure from the fanbase has intensified following several underwhelming performances that have seen Brendan Rodgers lose his eight-point lead.
Their draw to the Dons on Saturday (3 February) and their defeats to Hearts and Kilmarnock in December have played massively in Philippe Clement’s favour, who remains unbeaten in all competitions except the Old Firm defeat just before the new year.
However, while the Hoops still have a narrow edge over Rangers, fear and anxiety have begun to creep in and many fans are looking ahead to their clash against Hibernian on Wednesday night (7 February) as a must-win.
Celtic supporters have taken to social media to react to Rangers’ win, and some have called on Rodgers to start earning his hefty salary and get the Hoops back in the driver’s seat.
