Celtic fans troll Rangers suspended duo on Twitter ahead of Old Firm clash

By Danny Wright

Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to mock their bitter rivals over the suspensions of Joe Garner and Rob Kiernan.

The Rangers duo could potentially miss the Old Firm clash on March 12 through suspension.

Kiernan was given his marching orders towards the end of Rangers’ 3-2 win over St. Johnstone on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old was shown a straight red when he made an ugly two-footed challenge on Graham Cummins when his side were 2-1 up and could be suspended for the Celtic game.

The Saints equalised shortly after and Kiernan looked to have cost his side of a much-need win until Emerson Hyndman spared his blushes with a stoppage time winner.

Garner was already suspended for the game against Brendan Rodgers’ side after picking up his sixth booking of the season, which due to SFA rules is effective 14 days after the yellow card was recieved in the 2-1 loss to Dundee in February.

Celtic fans were quick to take to social media begging for the duo to have their suspensions lifted for the upcoming meeting.

Both players have been in poor form for the Light Blues, leading to Celtic fans believing that they would have better chance of victory if they were available to play.

Here is a selection of tweets from Celtic fans about the duo’s suspension:
