'No future at club' - Celtic fans tear into 28-year-old after draw v St Johnstone
Celtic supporters on Twitter haven’t been impressed with Cristian Gamboa after the Costa Rican made a rare start against St Johnstone, in a match which ended goalless.
Gamboa was amongst seven changes made by Brendan Rodgers from the team which played against Zenit on Thursday, and with the second leg on Thursday in mind.
The 28-year-old was making his first start since October and supporters weren’t too happy with his performance, with one tearing into the ex-West Brom player, saying he has “no future” at Parkhead.
Here are some of the best reactions to Gamboa’s performance against the Perth side:
WTC was Gamboa thinking there could have cost us

Hopefully. The Gamboa/Hendry right side giving me the fear.

Gamboa is faster but in all other aspects Lustig, even carrying an injury, is way better imho. But the rest will do some of our first teasers a bit of good.

So so poor from #Celtic.. Apart from 2 centre halves and Miller the rest dreadful… Mcgregor and Sinclair as senior players particularly poor. De Vries and Gamboa have no future at club..

Ajer tackling Gamboa sums up our performance.

Gamboa races forward at 100mph passes to mosonda who passes it back to out keeper , kind of missing the point of a break away

As for the match itself, the first-half produced few chances, Ajer having a header saved by Mannus, whilst Wotherspoon missed a great chance for the Saints putting a free header over the bar.
The only other chance of the first-half was an Edouard free-kick which curled past the post, as the half ended goalless.
Edouard missed a good chance early in the second-half, getting the ball stuck under his feet and his shot ended up being saved, whist Williams put a shot past the post for the Saints.
James Forrest came on for Rogic, but the Hoops found chances hard to create in the game. Moussa Dembele then replaced Edouard, as the Bhoys went for broke to get the win.
However, few clear cut chances were created and the game ended goalless.
