Fans fume at Brendan Rodgers amid Callum Osmand exploits
Callum Osmand did not make a squad under Rodgers following his arrival at the club in the summer transfer window from Fulham.
Osmand though came off the bench to net Celtic‘s third goal against Rangers to seal victory, leaving fans puzzled why Rodgers was not playing the 19-year-old.
“Rodgers should hold criminal charges for holding back Osmand, Kenny, Sarrachi, Trusty and the list goes on,” one fan said on social media.
Whilst another claimed: “Martin O’Neill could be the solution to all Celtic’s problems at this stage.”
“Really makes you wonder what his issue was with players like Trusty and Osmand to name two,” a fan asked.
A supporter commented: “Osmand & trusty not getting played by Rodgers is baffling.”
One fan was sarcastic with his comment: “Credit to Brendan Rodgers for keeping Osmand back for today & stepping down as manager to put the team first. We owe him bigly for this victory today.”
“We need to talk about Brendan! If he was still in charge Celtic wouldn’t win the game today. Scoring from a corner, when did we last do that? Trusty MOM, but couldn’t get a game. Osmand and Kenny thriving under Martin O’Neill. We’re more direct and much more entertaining!,” a fan said.
James McFadden also puzzled by Osmand omission
Speaking to BBC Sport, [2 November], James McFadden also questioned why Osmand has not been getting game time.
“Callum Osmand. Why has he not been an option until now when Celtic have been struggling up front?”
