Celtic fans rage as Martin Dubravka transfer news confirmed
Celtic supporters have come out in frustration on social media to criticise the club’s reported decision to sign Martin Dubravka.
Dubravka – who attracted unwanted attention for an error for Slovakia in their defeat by Ukraine at Euro 2024 – has a year to run on his deal at Newcastle United, who have told the goalkeeper to find a new club.
Alan Hutton revealed via Football Insider on 13 June that Celtic could be interested in bringing Dubravka to Parkhead to replace the retiring Joe Hart, citing the 35-year-old’s experience at the top level.
Fans on the green side of Glasgow however are underwhelmed online, cynically describing Celtic’s transfer policy as cheap and favouring simpler deals.
Initially joining Newcastle on loan in 2018, Dubravka has gone on to make 163 appearances to date for the club either side of a short loan stint at Manchester United, 23 of them in the Premier League last season following Nick Pope’s injury.
Celtic fans underwhelmed by Dubravka potential
Celtic supporters have taken to X to convey their negative feelings on the possible recruit of Dubravka to Brendan Rodgers’ squad.
In other news, Rangers fans have raged at Celtic star Callum McGregor after Scotland’s Euros exit.
