Celtic fans react on Twitter to Chris Sutton's comments about Caixinha after Rangers win

By Amir Mir

Chris Sutton has hit out at Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha after his side were beaten 2-0 against Celtic – and fans on Twitter have hailed their former striker for his comments.

BT Sports pundit Sutton stated that Caixinha was “always [talking] utter bull” when he claimed that he has the best squad in Scotland.

The Portuguese inherited a group of players in March that were struggling in the Scottish Premiership and were way behind their Old Firm rivals.

Celtic inflicted a fourth defeat of the season on Rangers in the Scottish Cup semi-final on Sunday afternoon when Callum McGregor and Scott Sinclair scored on either side of the break.

The Scottish Champions are now on course to win the treble as they will meet Aberdeen in the final after their win against Hibernian.

Rodgers team are yet to beaten on the Scottish domestic circuit this term and Sutton believes the gap between their rivals is “enormous”.

It was no surprise that the Celtic faithful agreed with Sutton, who has been very opinionated about Rangers this term.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

In the SPL, the Gers are a mammoth 33 points behind the Bhoys in the table as they have already clinched the title.

Rodgers team were crowned champions in early April after they beat Hearts 5-0 away from home.

As a result, they have won 29 of their 33 league matches, dropping points on only four occasions.

They will be looking to continue that trend before the season ends as they meet their Glasgow rivals once again next Saturday at Ibrox.

The last time the duo met in the league, defender Clint Hill scored a late equaliser at Parkhead when Graeme Murty was in interim charge.

In other Rangers news, a BBC pundit has stated how many players the Gers need in the summer in order to challenge Celtic.
