Celtic fans react on Twitter to hat-trick hero starting v Rangers

By Amir Mir

Moussa Dembele starts for Celtic against Rangers and fans on Twitter backed their striker to bag another hat-trick against their rivals.

The Bhoys take on their arch enemies in the Scottish League Cup semi-final on Sunday afternoon at Hampden Park.

Brendan Rodgers’ side humiliated their Glasgow counterparts 5-1 in their last league meeting in September, with striker Dembele netting a hat-trick.

Fans have backed him to do the same again, and feel his pace and power will be too much for the Gers backline.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Leigh Griffiths remains on the bench as Rodgers opts for Dembele up top, with the former Fulham man netting 13 goals in 19 appearances in all competitions this season.

Mark Warburton’s side will be hoping for a repeat of last season’s semi-final, when the Gers defeated Celtic on penalties, while they were still a Championship club.

Fellow Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen await the winner of this contest, after they beat Greenock Morton 2-0 on Saturday afternoon in the other semi-final.
