Rangers have reportedly agreed terms with Pedro Caixinha – and Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to have a dig at the little known Portugese.
TalkSport correspondent Ben Jacobs revealed on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday that Caixinha had been granted permission by his current club, Qatari outfit Al-Gharafa, to join Rangers.
This comes after Sky Sports Scotland reported on Tuesday night that the Portugese was on standby waiting to fly to Glasgow to seal a deal to become the new Ibrox boss.
It is unlikely Caixinha will take charge of Rangers in the Old Firm clash at Parkhead on Sunday, as he is set to watch his new team from the stands.
Nevertheless, the impending arrival of the 46-year-old has generated tremendous interest across both sides of Glasgow.
Celtic fans took to social media poke fun at Caixinha for being prised from a mid-table club in a low profile Middle East league.
Others highlighted his apparent lack of credentials and pointed out his connections to Santos Laguna, the Mexican club that has a tie-up with Celtic.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Apparently the media outside of Scotland don’t all give Caixinha an A+ on his report card. https://t.co/qJ6sBtYWSm
