Celtic fans have used social media to laud James Forrest, after the Hoops mainstay – who has made 54 appearances this season – finally turned in a good performance for the Hoops against Rangers, in a match which the Hoops won 5-0.

Forrest, who has had the best season of his career, scored his 18th goal of the season which put the Hoops 3-0 ahead just before half-time and played far better against the Ibrox side than he ever has done in the past.

Unsurprisingly Hoops fans were delighted with Forrest’s performance, with one fan claiming that he was ‘delighted’ for the player who has often had plenty of stick from Hoops fans, and another claiming that the ‘haters’ will finally have been answered by Forrest’s goal.

Here are some of the best reactions from Hoops fans as they were blown away on Twitter thanks to Forrest’s display:

Forrest was deservedly nominated for Scotland’s player of the year award, but is unlikely to win the award, as his Hoops captain Scott Brown is the favourite for the gong.

The player can be very satisfied with his season though, as he has proved that he is one of the most important players at the club and looks to be a Hoops mainstay for many years to come.
