Celtic fans have expressed their delight on social media after it was announced that midfielder Callum McGregor had signed a new four-year-deal with the Hoops.

The Hoops announced the news of the 24-year-old’s contract extension on their official Twitter account and official website on Thursday morning.

The left-footed playmaker has been at the club since he was just eight-years-old and has gone on to play at every age level for the Bhoys.

Fans are incredibly pleased with the news that McGregor is now tied to the club until 2021 and supporters feel that the announcement is a great boost after their recent 5-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain during their Champions League battle.

McGregor moved up to the senior squad in 2013 and since then has make 120 appearances across all competitions for the Hoops where he has scored 21 goals and provided 25 assists.

The Scotsman was sidelined for his side’s hammering against PSG but has featured in all of the Hoops’ Premiership games so far where he has already proved his worth by scoring three goals and providing two assists in the meantime.

The wide-man is the third player to put pen-to-paper at Parkhead in the last few weeks following other first-team stars Scott Brown and Jozo Simunovic in agreeing terms to fresh deals with the club.
