Celtic fans have expressed their delight on Twitter after Manchester City startled Patrick Roberts announced his return to the Glaswegian club.
The 20-year-old’s return has been eagerly awaited by fans and fellow squad members after he ended his 18 month loan spell at the end of their Invincible season.
The attacking winger announced his return on his personal Twitter account on Monday evening simply stating “I’m back” with a video of Ted the film character.

The Hoops also confirmed Roberts’ return on their official club website, and announced that the attacker had rejoined the club for a season-long loan from Man City.
Roberts initially moved to the club on a temporary basis back in February 2016 and went on to make 60 appearances across all competitions and he scored a total of 17 goals and provided 21 assists.
His impressive performance at Celtic Park was a huge driving force behind the club’s domestic treble success during their Invincibles campaign last season, and Roberts will be able to slot straight back in the squad ready for their Champions League battle.
In other Celtic transfer news, the club have agreed to sell a defender to a top-flight club.
