Celtic fans react on Twitter to Dembele starting v Rangers

By Harvey Byrne

Moussa Dembele returned to Celtic’s starting line-up in the Old Firm Derby against Rangers on Saturday – and fans on Twitter are pleased at the decision.

The 20-year-old forward has scored just one goal in his last eight appearances for the Hoops.

However, he has scored four goals in the two meetings against the Gers already this season, including a stunning hat-trick in the least league meeting in September, which brought a 5-1 win.

His record against Rangers has come into play in many Hoops fans opinions on the decision on social media, with many hoping he continues he can get on the score sheet again.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Dembele started the season in incredible form and still has an impressive record of 18 goals in 35 appearances.

Fans will now be hoping that he can recapture that early form in the crucial encounter at Ibrox.

A win for Celtic will see the Hoops move 19 points clear of the Gers in second with a game in hand, while also maintaining an unbeaten record after 20 matches.

The Bhoys are going into the encounter as favourites and will be keen to fulfil expectations, taking three wins from their three matches against Rangers this season.
