'#GoingFor55' – Celtic fans react hilariously on Twitter as Rangers thrash Aberdeen

By Danny Wright

Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to cut short the Rangers celebrations after they secured a 3-0 win over Aberdeen.

Gers had to wait until the 79th minute to open the scoring when Kenny Miller found the net.

The former Celtic striker got a second goal two minutes later before Joe Dodoo rounded off the surprise win.

The victory sees Rangers move on to 55 points, but they remain in third place – nine points adrift of Aberdeen.

Celtic have already secured the Scottish Premiership title and were quick to take to social media after the game to poke fun at their Old Firm rivals for bagging what is ultimately a meaningless win.

A lot of fans were pointing out that the Light Blues have just hit 55 points, as their rivals have been stuck on 54 Scottish league titles since 2011.

Here is a selection of tweets from the Bhoys about Rangers’ win:

Celtic and Rangers will meet each other two more times before the end of the campaign.

They clash at Hampden Park for a Scottish Cup semi-final on April 23 before the Hoops travel to Ibrox a week later in the league.

The Old Firm rivals drew on their previous meeting at Celtic Park thanks to a late Clint Hill equaliser.

However Brendan Rodgers’ side have been been the victors on the three occasions prior to the stalemate last month.
