Celtic fans say the same thing about Anthony Ralston after his display vs Midtjylland

Celtic fans were enraged by Anthony Ralston’s performance against Midtjylland as they lost 3-1 in the Europa League on 6 November.

Prior to the match, excitement was swirling around Glasgow with sources telling Football Insider that Celtic makes Martin O’Neill the permanent manager.

Despite the links between Celtic and Kieran McKenna for the managerial job, belief had been building that the Northern Irishman was the man to bring joy back to the fans.

Yet, the dismal display against the Danish outfit sent Hoops supporters crashing back down to earth as they were well below-par with Ralston coming under particular criticism.

Celtic supporters fuming with Ralston’s poor showing as Midtjylland exploited his weaknesses

Celtic’s 3-1 defeat to Midtjylland saw an array of players have an underwhelming performance including the right-back.

The 26-year-old was at fault for the hosts’ second goal as he was easily beaten down the Bhoys’ right-hand side, failing to prevent Philip Billing’s cross.

Ralston was consistently targeted by the Danish side who saw him as an evident weakness in O’Neill‘s backline.

The Scotsman did gradually improve as the game went on, but Celtic fans had had enough with his defensive fragilities.

Hoops supporters voiced their anger with the number 56, with one fan saying: “Never ever want to see Ralston in a Celtic jersey again.” with another wanting him out of the club, adding: “send Ralston back to St Johnstone. Absolutely diabolical footballer.”
