Celtic fans slaughter Yang Hyun-Jun display during St Mirren win – ‘Embarrassment’
Celtic fans on social media have slammed winger Yang Hyun-Jun for a “shocking” display during their 3-0 win over St Mirren on Saturday afternoon (13 April).
Celtic extended their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to four points with a comfortable win at Parkhead.
After a goalless first half, Brendan Rodgers’ side broke the deadlock through Reo Hatate’s strike shortly after the break before goals from Kyogo Furuhashi and Adam Idah added to their lead.
Kyogo started as the focal point of a front three which was flanked by Nicolas Kuhn and Yang – who had a game to forget on the left.
The 21-year-old missed a huge chance to score in the second half and was extremely wasteful with the ball at his feet having lost possession 13 times.
He was eventually withdrawn by Rodgers and replaced by Luis Palma after 70 minutes.
Fans on social media were fuming at Yang’s performance, with some supporters desperate to see him dropped from the starting lineup by Rodgers.
Celtic remain at the top of the table after 33 games played, but they could be toppled by Glasgow rivals Rangers who have two games in hand.
Philippe Clement’s side travel to Ross County on Sunday afternoon (14 April) before rounding off the first phase of the Premiership with a trip to Dundee on Wednesday (17 April).
