Celtic fans on Twitter call for Rodgers to axe regular and start midweek hero v Aberdeen
By Will Butcher
Celtic fans have expressed their desire on Twitter to see Brendan Rodgers select goalscorer Stuart Armstrong over Nir Bitton against Aberdeen.
The former Dundee United star scored a superb goal against Ross County on Wednesday night, stroking home a well-placed left foot shot into the corner of Scott Fox’s net.
Israel international Bitton was rested during the 4-0 win along with other first-team stars such as captain Scott Brown, Moussa Dembele and left-back Kieran Tierney.
But with Saturday’s top-of-the-table clash against Aberdeen on the horizon, out-of-form Bitton could be overlooked by Rodgers in favour of Celtic’s number 14.
Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to tempt manager Rodgers into dropping the disillusioned Bitton, and to choose Arsmstrong to partner Brown in midfield instead.

Personally I think Roberts and Armstrong done more than enough to start against Aberdeen. pic.twitter.com/5k3yConGP4

If Rodgers does decide to drop Bitton, Armstrong is likely to be given a chance with Callum McGregor also in with a shout of a first-team slot.
Seven points clear at the top of the Premiership and with a game in hand, Rodgers men will be looking to extend that lead this weekend.
They take on potential title challengers Aberdeen in Saturday’s early kick off, with the chance to move 10 points clear of their rivals if other results go their way.
In other Celtic team news, this is the expected starting 11 to face second placed Aberdeen on Saturday.
