Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to urge Erik Sviatchenko to come back to the club.

Sviatchenko, 26, is currently due to return to Parkhead in the coming weeks as he is currently out on loan at Danish club FC Midtjylland until the end of the campaign.

The Denmark international was shipped out to his home nation on a temporary deal in January having made just two appearances for Celtic in the first-half of the season.

For Midtjylland, the 6ft 1in centre-back has helped them stay in the hunt to sign the Danish Superligaen title, appearing 14 times across all competitions and scoring one goal, which came against FC Copenhagen last month.

Although Sviatchenko is due to return to Celtic soon, it seems that fans on Twitter want him back as soon as possible to help them round off their second treble in a row.

One Bhoys fan claimed that the defender should “come home”, with it looking as though they expect him to leave for good in the summer.

While Celtic have dominated Scotland for the last two seasons, many still have concerns about the defence and particularly the performances of Dedryck Boyata.

It seems that the Parkhead faithful may prefer Sviatchenko over Boyata, even though Brendan Rodgers clearly has them the other way around in his pecking order.

In other Celtic news, the Hoops would show Steven Gerrard who is boss if they sign this £40,000-a-week former Rangers player.
